Tree crown street

n. A linear or curvilinear band of unconsumed tree crowns surrounded by an area of completely consumed tree crowns.

• Discussion

The unconsumed tree crowns in the tree crown street are often fully scorched, resulting in mortality; the street is only visible while the scorched needles are still present. Once the needles fall, the tree crown street may be indistinguishable from the surrounding area.
